How to handle inquiry after trademark application

A. Brief description

Inquiry means two years after trademark application or half an year after application of change, renewal, assignment, reissuing etc., there is not any information. Applicants or agents can log in website of trademark office of SAIC, clicking trademark inquiry to inquire the application, or go to trademark office, or post to trademark office to inquire freely.

B. Inquiry by posting or going to trademark office

a.Going to trademark office

(1). Filling out Inquiry Form after Trademark Application, and provide Notice of Acceptance, or copy of service fees receipt and the design of trademark. For application of change, renewal, assignment, reissuing, registration number should also be written.

(2) Inquiry person can go to receive result of inquiry in three days; and if there is no result in three days, he will be informed when the result comes out.

b.Inquiry by post

(1)Copy of Notice of Acceptance, or copy of service fee receipt and trademark design should be attached. Inquiry item, enterprise name, contact person, mailing address should also written clearly with official seal. For inquiring application of change, renewal, assignment, re-issuing, trademark number should be written. Letter should be posted to: Trademark Office of State Administration for Industry and Commerce, No. 8 Sanlihedong Road, Xicheng District, Beijing. Postcode: 100820. On the envelop, Trademark Inquiry should be marked.

(2)When the result comes out, request people will be informed.

C. Attention

a.Inquiries for application of opposition, trademark license contract records, cancellation for three-year no use of registered trademark are not accepted.

b.Notice of Acceptance or the copy one should be provided. If Notice of Acceptance is lost, copy of service fees receipt should be provided.

c.If trademark registration, change, renewal, assignment, re-issuing are authorized to trademark agency go handle, the application inquiry should be applied by trademark agency. Trademark agency should file out Inquiry Form after Trademark Application, and submit copy of list with application date, application number with acceptance seal from trademark agency and also trademark design.

d.After application for trademark registration, change, renewal, assignment, re-issuing, if applicant has corrected or revised, or some other conditions have happened, all of these should be marked for convenient inquiry.
